The award 2010 will be given to Finnvid Prescher for his thesis “Seed orchards – Genetic considerations on function, management and seed procurement”. The Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards are given to the best thesis globally within its subject by the International Union of Forest Research (IUFRO) at its world conferences each fifth year. The award to Finnvid Prescher was given within the subject Physiology and Genetics and was in 2005 given to Kyu-Suk Kang, and 2000 to Run-Peng Wei. All three were students at the Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology with Professor Dag Lindgren as supervisor. Finnvid Prescher is now seed manager at Svenska Skogsplantor.
