The Heads of Department invite to an information meeting about Swedish Academia. This meeting is especially addressed to PhD students and postdocs at UPSC and is organised once per year in November.

Are you new at UPSC?

We invite every newcomer at UPSC to participate in the Welcome Meeting. This meeting will be held twice per semester, four times per year and gives you important information about UPSC, how it is organised, who are your contact persons and will help you to find your way around at UPSC.

Please make sure to attend at least one meeting after your arrival at UPSC. We will serve fika for everyone participating.

Registration is open now for the annual cross-country skiing relay, KBC Stafetten, which will take place on Wednesday, 28 February, 2024!

Everyone is welcome to join in: staff members, PhD students, and postdocs from different departments from UmU and SLU, and from beginners to experts!

Register a team of four with your colleagues (of mixed genders), or, if you do not plan to participate yourself, come over and support your favourite teams by cheering for them!

The start will be at 10:00 on campus next to Teknikhuset and SLU.

Visit by the Wallenberg Wood Science Centre (WWSC) Research School

Approximately 60 PhD students from WWSC, Luleå University of Technology and Åko Akademi, Finland will visit UPSC.
UPSC staff are especially encouraged to participate in the session between 14:00-15:00 to learn more about our guest's research and what they do, but of course also the first hour of talks is open to UPSC staff. The guided tours are reserved for Research School visitors only.

Title: The regulatory role of GABA during dark-induced leaf senescence in Arabidopsis thaliana

Supervisor: Olivier Keech

The UPSC employee survey identified stress and recovery as an important area to focus on and now we are taking some steps to address the problem.
 
Our occupational health care provider will give a lecture on the topic on the 13th of June at 09.00 – 10.15 in the Carl Kempe salen.
 
The lecture will include information about long-term and short-term stress, the importance of recovery in everyday life (private and at work), what happens in the body during stress and recovery, practical strategies to slow down, take control of what you yourself can influence and let go of what you cannot influence. Interactive features such as breathing exercises and shorter question and answer sessions are also included.
 
Everyone at UPSC is welcome and encouraged to attend!
